Memorial Day

Not much in the way of happenings, but I thought I should share all my pictures from our trip to New Mexico over the long weekend...here they are:
Yep, that's right that is all of them! My family is so very lame about having there picture taken...my Poppy doesn't really care too much about it, but I can't seem to get him to look at the camera or his eyes are always closed. Oh well, I tried I guess. The picture of the dog is their crazy dog Angie that refuses to get within 1o feet of anyone other than my grandparents and my uncle. Seriously, we were there for three freakin' nights and the dog would not come near us at all and this happens each time we visit. Highlights of our trip: going to the Pecan Farms, seeing Barack Obama driving down the street on the way to his speech at park in Las Cruces....seriously, a speech in Las Cruces??? I just don't quite understand that one, teaching my Poppy how to email with attachments and watching him discover Utube. Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend! PS-I started the Host this weekend and I'm not sure what to think of it. Has anyone else started it yet?

Pure Anxiety

When the writers strike happened this past fall I found a great deal on several TV series and I have been watching them ever since. So far we have finished Freak and Geeks, My So Called Life, Northern Exposure and tonight I just finished the X-files. I know, that sounds like several hours wasted on television, but the TV series are addicting. When I say series I mean I watched all 7 seasons of Northern Exposure and all 9 of X-files. Sad to say, but I have a strange feeling of separation anxiety...I'd say 25% from the actual shows being over, but 75% because I won't get to see my TV boyfriends anymore! Patrick Dempsey who? No way man, I'm talking about the men that get my heart a fluttering (in addition to Mr. Blake of course)-drum roll please.....David Duchovny and John Corbett (if you don't know he was in Northern Exposure as a kind of hippy DJ)! They are both soooooo dreamy in ever way! They both sure can make a gals heart go pitter patter. Blake has teased me at times and likes to tell me that David Duchovny a.k.a My Mulder is also one of his mom's favorites-well, I guess that she just has good taste. Okay, okay, okay, I'll stop my day dreaming now.

By the way Ame, the totally kissed several times! Did you give up on the show before it ended? They L-O-V-E each other! It is okay though, b/c I dig Scully.

Oh, and if any of you were worried about me having withdrawls I'll get to My Mulder this summer in the X-files movie! Hooray! For reals-when on earth would I ever get so involved in a Scifi show?

"This is the last rose of the night"....Why so dramatic season after season?

Okay, okay...I must admit that I have been a long time viewer of ABC's The Bachelor and the Bachelorette, but I gave it up after the first episode of last season The Bachelor-London...it just seemed so blah after the first few minutes. With that said, due to Jen's text about the show and Blake reading it (Blake loves these shows believe it or not) we just started watching the Bachelorette that we DVR'd last night and thus far I am not impressed. As if a guy was shown shaving his chest hair in the first two minutes of the show!! Gross! I don't need to see that! That is all my venting for the day...enjoy! I'm not sure if I'll stick the season out, but I might lose the fight to Blake because I can hear him cracking up right now while watching. By the way, has anybody noticed how much she blinks her eyes????

Anyone Up For A Trip? To the Land of Port that is!

I think in celebration of my move and in Twilight coming out everyone should come visit me in Portland....in December for a viewing of Twilight in the natural setting is was filmed in.

In case you haven't viewed the official trailer yet here is a link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1099212/trailers-trailer-vi2380464409

Desert Botanical Gardens

For some reason I got the itch to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens this past week. Why? I'll tell you-for the past month I have been driving by a billboard on my way to work saying come see all the amazing colors in bloom at the gardens....when we got there it was pretty much colorless. Oh, and the price to get is $10/adult! What a rip! I guess we got there a month too late or maybe the billboard wasn't telling the truth. Kill the billboard!
Seriously, the only thing that actually had lots of the color was the butterfly room, but that is about it. If you're wanting to see brown then go, but if you wanting vibrant colors like I was dreaming of I'd save your money.

I Spy With My Little Pink Eye

So, the other day I was having a pretty bad allergy attack (including very pink eyes from itching them so much) and I thought taking a nice long and hot shower would do me good. While I was in the shower, as I do many days, I noticed all the shapes in the shower. Immediately after getting out of the shower I made Blake come to the shower for viewing....needless to say he thought I was nuts. I guess he really just isn't as right-brained as me. I showed him probably about 12 or so shapes and he could only kind of see one of them! I know, I sound like a little kid looking up at the clouds, but for some reason I find it enjoyable.

Can you see what I see in the below photos? The only hint I'll give is that they are all living creatures. It may help if you tilt your head back and forth from side to side.
